Mavericks knock off the Undefeated Thunder

The Dallas Mavericks pull off a great win tonight against the Oklahoma City Thunder with a final score of Dallas 100, Thunder 87.

The Mavericks had to shake off a terrible loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves last night as they played host to the undefeated Thunder. the Mavs played like the team we saw last season during the Western Conference finals throughout the game and held off the young and athletic duo of Westbrook and Durant.

Dirk Nowitzki led the way, putting up 26 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals showing off his Finals MVP skills. But what was also amazing was the play by newly added swing-man Vince Carter(34) and the other big acquisition Lamar Odom(32) who combined for 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists, shaking off what looked to be "Old Age."

Ian Mahinmi put up decent numbers for the second time out of four games, scoring 10 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. Jason Terry finished the night with 15 points and "The Matrix" Shawn Marion had 17 as the Mavs held off the Thunder to capture their second win of the shortened season.

The Phoenix Suns come into Dallas on Wednesday, their record is 2-3. Dallas will have to take the intensity they had with this game if they want to beat the quick, uptempo Suns lead by their star Steve Nash. Following that game, the Mavs will hit the road in another rivalry game with the San Antonio Spurs.
